Gillian is the kind of person who is always 10 steps ahead, whether that’s running in the Port Hills or giving clients top-notch statutory planning advice. She is skilled in the critical review of information and has strong working knowledge of the different approaches to regulation and policy implementation within Aotearoa. With a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geography and over a decade of professional experience, she is an all-rounder with the ability to zone in on solutions that will result in improvements for clients and better outcomes for the natural environment.

Gillian has had extensive involvement in the development of policy and planning documents throughout her career, including preparing and processing resource consent applications. Since joining Enviser, she has enjoyed a diverse range of assignments for local government organisations and private clients, including a major review of water takes in the Hakatere / Ashburton River catchment – a project that involved extensive consultation and engagement with 90 resource consent holders and the production of s42A recommendation reports in relation to each. She has also been involved in the preparation of plan change submissions for DairyNZ and Doppelmayr and resource consent applications for Christchurch International Airport, Lyttelton Port and Amuri Irrigation Company.

Like many parents who work, Gillian has reached the status of ‘super-efficient human’. When she’s not keeping projects on track for Enviser and solving resource management and planning issues before anyone else has sipped their morning coffee, you’ll find her hanging with her kids, mountain biking, skiing and walking or running in the great outdoors.
